Every year, the Master’s weekend is a beloved time in our household. My husband is an avid golfer and a dedicated golf watcher, so this particular weekend is always one where we hunker down at home and have it playing the whole time. This year, we decided to turn it into a reason to bring some friends together by hosting a Master’s themed party and we’re so glad that we did!
In this post, I’ll walk you through the menu I put together, the drinks we served, and everything I picked up for a Master’s themed table-scape.

Master’s Themed Decor
Since the Master’s colours are green, yellow, and white, I wanted to incorporate those. However, I wanted to do it in a way that felt tasteful and not tacky. I also wanted to be able to reuse the items I purchased for other hosting, beyond this one occasion.
For the tablescape, I picked up a beautiful printed tablecloth here, green napkins and paper plates here, and yellow striped straws. I grabbed yellow and white flowers from the grocery store, stole some of my husband’s golf balls to use as little accents and created a couple of Master’s-themed slogans using a letter board and downloadable prints.
Master’s Themed Menu
The traditions around food at Augusta are long-standing and the menu has remained the same since the very beginning (as have the prices!). The original menu consists of pimento and egg salad sandwiches. But truth be told, I knew the people we were hosting wouldn’t be overly into that line-up, so I switched up the types of sandwich, while sticking with that general idea!
What I prepared:
- Cucumber sandwiches
- Turkey & cheese buns
- Ham & cheese buns
- Cookies
- A colourful veggie tray
- Caramel corn
- Chips
Master’s Themed Drinks
When I think about what drink goes best with golf, the first one that comes to mind is the Arnold Palmer (which consists of 1/2 lemonade, 1/2 iced tea). We, of course, had to have this on the menu and decided to give it the title of “specialty cocktail” for the day. I sourced this downloadable print and popped it into a frame that I already had to create a cute cocktail station with glassware, straws, an ice bucket, and garnishes.
Technically, a “boozy” Arnold Palmer is called a John Daly, named after another American professional golfer. The alcohol of choice for this is vodka, which we had available for those who wanted a little afternoon buzz.
The signature cocktail of the Masters golf tournament is actually the Azalea, so that was also available for anyone who wanted it.
Azalea recipe:
- 1 part lemon juice.
- 2 parts vodka.
- 1 part pineapple juice.
- Splash of grenadine.
- Garnish with mint and lemon wedge.
Hosting a Master’s themed party is a fun way to bring your friends and family together to celebrate the tournament. A simple menu of golf-themed food and drinks, with some green and yellow decor will create a festive atmosphere that puts everyone into the spirit of the day! And who knows, maybe it will turn into an annual event!
