This post is all about table decor for Christmas.
As the holiday season approaches, it’s a great time to consider the details of any upcoming events/dinners you may be hosting. One thing that is often overlooked until the last minute is the table decor for Christmas. In the hustle and bustle of the season, it can be something that gets put on the back burner and then all of a sudden, the day has arrived!
But putting together a stunning tablescape is easier than you think and will make your guests feel extra special. And it’s actually so much fun to bring something beautiful to life.
In this post, I’m going to show you how to bring together beautiful table decor for Christmas. I’ve even done all of the hard work of sourcing decor to create three different tablescapes! That way you have some options.
Here are the elements I try to include for a beautiful tablescape:
- a great set of dishes
- utensils
- glassware (for water AND wine/cocktails)
- a tablecloth
- candle holder/candle sticks
- vase with greens or flowers OR a laying centerpiece
- napkins and/or placemats
- napkin rings
Dining Table Set
Great dinnerware is the hero of any tablescape. And my all-time favourite brand for everything dining-related is hand’s down, Fable.
Fable is a Canadian brand who I’ve fallen in love with over the years as I’ve built out my collection. I actually have an entire blog post walking you through every piece in my collection. I even share which pieces I’d recommend starting with if you’re looking to invest in new dish-ware.

A Stunning Holiday Centerpiece
A holiday centerpiece does NOT have to be complicated! Some of my favourite looks for a table are minimal and include a pretty vase with a small bunch of flowers, or a handful of greenery/boughs draped down the middle.
For this centerpiece, you’ll notice a few different varieties of winter greens: cedar, blueberry cedar, and holly. The large boughs are the plain cedar, this makes up the body of the arrangement. I added in clippings of the blueberry cedar and the holly to bring in some added texture and help everything really pop!
You can also see a few red berries sprinkled throughout. Again, this is just for some added texture on the arrangement. Winter greens have a long lifespan if kept in water. The greenery can be picked up a week or so before you’re planning to host and then taken out of the water and arranged the day you’ll be hosting.
