Our house has a small “bonus room” that we always planned to turn into a cozy tv room when we were dreaming up plans for the house. Since space was limited, the priorities were: a giant, comfy sectional; and a media stand that was pretty with closed storage. I searched high and low for a media stand that I loved. However, I kept coming up empty handed due to a smaller budget paired with my taste for higher end pieces. While scrolling Instagram, I kept seeing posts about customizing Ikea cabinets in the kitchen with beautiful doors. This gave me the idea that maybe you could do the same with some of the Ikea media consoles.
As I redirected my search, I discovered Norse Interiors on Instagram. Right away, I knew that was the route I wanted to go. Customizing the Ikea Besta would give me the exact look I was going for at a price point that worked for us. Cane doors was also something on my wishlist, so I was delighted to see that was also an option.
Now, in full transparency, I did reach out to Norse Interiors and inquire if they would be interested in working together on this project. They kindly agreed to send me some pieces to share with my audience. This post is not sponsored but the products were gifted. They also provided me with a discount code to share with you for 10% off sitewide. The code is DEBBIE10.

Let Me Introduce You To Norse Interiors
Norse Interiors has a wide range of custom doors, legs, and hardware for a few specific Ikea pieces: The Besta, The Sektion, and the Malm. First, you purchase the box, hinges and any interior shelves you want from Ikea. Then, you purchase the other pieces from Norse. This way, you get a custom-looking piece at a much more affordable price-point.
This brand is an amazing small, family-run shop. I’ve truly fallen in love with their ethos and mission to upcycle plain pieces into works of art in your home. You can read the founder’s story here if you want to learn more. Again, this isn’t sponsored and the brand didn’t request a blog post. I just find the story so inspiring and knew you would love learning about this option for your own homes!
That being said, the brand did recently provide me with a discount code to share with you.
Use code: DEBBIE10 for 10% off all Norse products.
