It’s no secret that one of my top ways to create a space that feels warm and inviting is through the perfect scent. I want to be the type of home that when people walk in, they instantly comment on how delicious it smells.
One of the questions I’m most often asked is how to create how a home that feels calm and peaceful and I love to share about the importance of activating all of the senses. Warm lighting and well-decorated corners to please the eye, soft textiles to the touch, a great playlist playing in the background, the perfect spread of snacks and drinks, and lastly, the perfect scent to set the mood.
Now, I’m definitely a lover of a delicious candle but to be honest, I don’t really like to light them during the day unless it’s rainy or gloomy. Where I turn instead is to my vitruvi diffuser. If I had to make a list of my favourite brands, vitruvi would be at the top. I have been using their products literally every day for the last couple of years and have really nailed down which scents to use at different times.
As we move into the colder months, I wanted to share with you which vitruvi scents I gravitate to most and why they stand out as favourites.

Okay! First, let’s chat about the diffusers.
I have two different types of vitruvi diffusers and really love them both. When considering which one I’d most recommend, I struggled a bit to choose so I thought I’d tell you what I love about each one so you can decide which makes the most sense for you.
The Move Diffuser
This is my most recent addition to my collection and as the name suggests, it’s lovely because it is cordless and can move with you throughout your home. The Move comes with a base that plugs in and to charge the diffuser, you just pop it on that base. I keep the base in our living room, which is where the diffuser sits and runs most of the time but I love the ease of being able to bring it with me as I move throughout the house. Sometimes I will place it on the kitchen counter or even bring it into the bathroom with me if I’m planning to take a long bath. The run time for the Move diffuser is shorter than the plugged in versions but I actually find it’s the water canister that runs out before the battery. I can run my Move diffuser fully unplugged before a refill is needed for about 4 hours.
The Stone Diffuser
This diffuser was my first product from Vitruvi and I still use mine on the regular. It’s a nice option since it’s at a lower price point than the Move. My Stone Diffuser sits in our home office and I use it every day when I’m working in there. I love the look of the stone diffusers, they have the prettiest colours and the texture is lovely. They also have a much longer run time and a larger water canister than the Move but you don’t have the convenience of grabbing and going in the same way. If you live in a smaller space where one diffuser would likely scent much of the area or if there is a certain room you’re thinking where a diffuser would be a great addition, I’d highly recommend the Stone Diffusers.
My Favourite Vitruvi Scents For the Colder Months
Afterglow – Clove, Cassia and Vanilla
Vitruvi released two holiday scents this year and this one is divine (spoiler – they both are). I honestly crave the warmth of vanilla scents when the whether turns cold. I have this mental image of Sunday afternoons spent in the kitchen and making Christmas puzzles when I smell this one.
Fireside – Nutmeg, Wild Orange, Cinnamon, Fir
This is the other holiday scent that was created and it’s also delicious. Think mornings by the fire with a book in hand. It’s warm with a hint of citrus that really hits the spot.
Boost – Bergamot, Grapefruit, Juniper, Lime
If I had to choose the vitruvi scent I reach for most often, this would be in the top two. Boost is aptly named because it wakes you up and opens up the senses. I tend to reach for this one most afternoons when I’m working from home and find it helps me refocus.
Golden – Grapefruit, Lavender, Peppermint, Ginger
This is my other most used blend. I would say this one is a bit more grounding than boost thanks to the lavender and peppermint. Those are both scents I find myself gravitating to on the regular so I was happy to see them combined in this blend (+ grapefruit + ginger = yum).
Grove – Fir, Spruce, Pine, Cedarwood
This scent is winter in a tiny bottle to me. We’ve opted for a faux Christmas tree because we love to have it up for quite some time and real ones don’t have the same lifespan but the one thing I’ve always missed with the faux tree is the delicious aroma you get with real trees. This blend is exactly that. It’s become a bit of a tradition that while we’re setting up and decorating the tree, we have this one diffusing and in my opinion, it’s just as satisfying.
Legacy – Rose, Bergamot, Frankincense, Cedarwood
This blend is one that is grounding and calming. It’s perfect to diffuse in the bathroom while taking a bath or at the end of the day to undwind.
Clean Sweep – Pine, Lemon, Clove
This one is what I reach for when I’ve cooked something that is especially fragrant and the smell is lingering hours later (e.g. bacon, a roast, etc.). It’s a bit of a palette cleanser and leaves the house feeling fresh. It’s also a great blend when you’ve just done a deep clean of the house and you’re caving that citrusy clean smell without the chemicals.
Peppermint
I’ll be honest, I rarely reach for single scents as I’ve grown to love the blends so much. But I do use peppermint quite often as it helps with headaches. I’ll either dab a bit on my temples and base of my neck or even diffuse while taking a nap if I’m feeling especially tired or achy.
Okay! That’s it! I hope this run-down of vitruvi scents for the colder months was helpful and if you’ve been considering an order, don’t forget to use my code Debbie20 for 20% off!
