I meant to get up on the blog so long ago but to be honest, it completely slipped my mind! Quite a while back, I decided to tackle some spice organization. This was an easy afternoon project that made the biggest difference and was so satisfying when it was finished. Before organizing our spices, we had these little spice bags all over and every time I went to cook anything and find a certain spice, it was an ordeal.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates a cohesive, aesthetic kitchen drawer. I’m so inspired revisiting this project, it’s making me want to tackle a bunch of other areas in the house. The fridge, pantry, under the sinks, and the bathroom drawers to name a few. So I’m thinking this might just turn into a little organizational series.
I’ve added links to the specific items I used below and will also include some alternative options/styles for spice organization.
Spice Organization: Here’s What I Purchased
The Jars | I knew I wanted to find a matching set of clear glass jars, this pack includes 24-matching jars with lids. There’s also a small funnel that you can use to empty your spices into the jar. I found the funnel a bit too small so wound up cutting it back to make for an easier transfer.
The Labels | This part was a bit extra, but I really wanted cute labels with a font that I liked. The set of jars above does come with labels, but I didn’t love how they looked so wound up ordering this set and totally love them. The pack includes 184 pre-printed labels and 8 blank labels, in case the one you need isn’t in there. All of the commonly used spices are included (I haven’t needed to use any of the blank labels yet).
The Stand | This stand is specific for using in a drawer and worked well in our situation. If you plan on doing this project, you’ll need to consider if you’ll store your spices in a drawer, a pantry or on the counter (I’ve included links to stands for all of those options below).
