I’ve always thought September feels like magic.
It’s a fresh start while also feeling nostalgic. We still get to enjoy the warmer temps but also get to cuddle up real cozy in the cooler evenings. A few things I’m really looking forward to this month: evenings by the fire with piles of blankets, changing my pots over to colorful mums, moody playlists, adding cardigans back into my wardrobe, sipping red wine, wearing flannel, making soups/chowders again. I love summer but the fall months are so special.
September Agenda
September is our anniversary month so we have set some time aside to celebrate. We booked a whole week off work and have planned a little getaway to Saskatoon for a few days for a change of scenery, new restaurants (I’m a travel-to-eat kinda girl), a visit with good friends and some shopping thrown in.
I also want to share more content on the blog this month. Now that summer is winding down, I feel ready to focus on this space more. When the weather is warm, I have the hardest time sitting at the computer because Sask summers are so short. BUT I have a whole notebook filled with post ideas and I am going to pencil in some “blog work time” to be more intentional about sharing on here. I also am planning to revamp my shop pages on my blog and add in a highlight on Instagram to add pieces we have and love that I’m so often asked about as well as a space to share pieces I’m eyeing.
I’ve also been reading so more regularly as of late and am planning to continue that into the fall. A cup of tea and reading before bed has become the ritual as of late. I love it so much and it really helps my mind wind down at the end of the day – so much better than scrolling. I just started the non-fiction book Three Women and I’m already captivated by the women’s stories.
Inspired By
I came across this Morgan Harper Nichols quote on Instagram and it hit me right in the feels. It’s my mantra for the month.
This month,
Remember that joy is more
than just “staying positive”.
Joy is a way of living. A way
of looking for Light in the
midst of it all. Joy
is transformational and
contagious. Joy can be
shared through action.
