For the last year, Johnny and I have been dreaming of a Europe trip and Italy is one of the destinations at the top of our list. Obviously international travel is being delayed for a while so a lot of ‘staycations’ will be happening over here. Alas, this summer you’ll find us sipping aperol spritzers in the backyard with a book in hand. A lot of you asked for this recipe when I shared it the other day on Instagram so I decided to share it here! Spritzers are summery, refreshing and truly feel like a treat. They’re easy to make and DELICIOUS. That’s my kinda drink!
To make an aperol spritzer…
I recommend a giant glass – we use wine glasses because I love a ton of ice for this drink.
You’ll also need the following…
5 ounces prosecco
2.5 ounces aperol
a splash of club soda
sliced citrus (orange, lemon or lime will all work!)
Fill your glass 3/4 full with ice. Add in all the ingredients in the order they’re listed. Give it a quick stir and then enjoy! All in all, a pretty effortless but satisfying summer drink! Let me know if you try it and what you think if you do!
