I’ve mentioned before on the blog that we’re going with builder-grade lighting all throughout the new house to start and will be replacing the fixtures at a slower pace. We did this for a couple of reasons – primarily because of cost and options. There is a substantial cost to upgrade fixtures through our builder and the options they have aren’t really my taste. I’m quite particular about what I like for lighting and wanted to take my time finding one’s I truly love.
Lighting is one of the areas I’m most excited about in the new house – I view all lighting (sconces, pendants, flush lighting, lamps) almost like the “jewelry” of a house. I think it is one of the design elements that can make a home look high-end and there are so many fun options out there.
This edit is focused on sconces for bedrooms, living rooms, and hallways. I would go with a lot of different options for a bathroom and will do an edit for those at a later date. I did two round-ups for you – one’s that are hard-wired and one’s that plug in. I hope you enjoy and find these helpful!
