This post is all about ways to do a spring refresh of your home.

Spring is here and it’s time to refresh your home! With the change of season comes the perfect opportunity to revitalize your living space and inject new life into it. I don’t know about you, but I am majorly craving some warmth and Spring weather. I am ready!
In this blog post, I’ll give you eight easy ways to refresh your home for spring. From bringing in seasonal flowers to swapping out linens and bedding for lighter options, I’ve got you covered. So let’s get started and get your home ready for the new season!
Bring in seasonal blooms or new plants
This is my number one tip for leaning into the season! Nothing makes me happier in my space than a bouquet of fresh flowers. And I gotta say, spring blooms in particular are a lot of my favourite flower varieties (ranunculuses, peonies, anemones – to name a few!). This Spring, I decided to sign up for a local flower subscription that will have fresh flowers delivered to my door all through the Spring and Summer months! It’s a really incredible way to support a local grower and small business while also bringing a little added joy to my space.
This is the flower subscription I signed up for (in case you’re local to Lethbridge and interested!) but most cities have something similar if you do a bit of Googling!
Re-arrange areas of your home that are feeling flat
For all of my life, I’ve been a “shuffler”. Re-arranging my room as a kid and restyling every shelf/nook/corner as an adult whenever I start to get bored. The idea of “shopping your home” is something that’s always resonated with me as I find it helps curb the desire to always buy new things.
Oftentimes one rooms clutter becomes another rooms magic, if you just take a bit of time to play and move things around. Some spots that I especially love to change around to refresh my home in the spring are kitchen counters, the tops of dressers and coffee tables, and book shelves. I promise if you spend a bit of time restyling that spot, it will bring you joy in a whole new way.

Swap out linens and bedding for lighter options
I always love that time towards the end of winter and the beginning of spring, when you get to do a final wash of the winter bedding and swap it out for those lighter options!
I tend to lean towards linen for sheets in the spring and summer. They’re lightweight and breathable yet still comfy and cozy. I also love a lightweight cotton sheet.

Add in materials that feel more aligned with warmer months
Over the years, I’ve been building out my home decor collection. I try to purchase things that fall into one of two categories: spring/summer and fall/winter rather than specific holiday decor. I’ve found that this allows me to refresh spaces without having a ton of items to store and cuts down on the clutter in our home.
Generally speaking, my style in the spring and summer leans heavier into materials such as lighter woods, seagrass, and rattan, as well as a few pops of colours (light greens, greys, and blush pink). It’s always so fun to begin pulling out the pieces for the new season that I’ve collected and tucked away. This always brings a bit of freshness in my space.
Swap out art (frame tv or prints)
It’s so easy to change out art prints to go with the season, whether it’s a smaller framed print or a Samsung frame tv. Digital prints make it incredibly simple to swap these out and help breath a bit of new life into your space.
For printing digital downloads, I save them onto a USB and head to a local print shop – London Drugs is typically my go-to for quality & price in Canada.
Here are a few digital print sets that I love for the Spring and Summer months – these, these, and these.
Change the scents in your space to be more spring-like
There are certain scents that just smell like certain seasons, don’t you think? For me, I tend to lean more towards citrusy and floral scents in the Spring and Summer. My two go-to brands for all things scent are Vitruvi (their diffusers and essential oils are the best, in my opinion) and SOJA & CO for candles.
From Vitruvi, I love to use the scents Boost and Golden in the Spring/Summer. And make sure to use my discount code: GINGERDEBHOUSE if you plan to purchase anything from Vitruvi.
SOJA & CO just released a new Spring lineup of candles that just arrived at my doorstep, and it’s as delicious smelling as I expected.
Do a deep clean (closets, pantries, fridge, cupboards, mudroom)
Is there a better feeling than a good spring clean?? As soon as that spring sunshine starts streaming in the windows, I get this urge to declutter and deep clean every corner of our house. Bags get filled up with donations, the pantry gets organized, the winter coats and boots get tucked away.
Nothing will refresh your home for spring more than this so make sure to add it to your list.
Refresh your entryways
Entryways in Canada become a bit of a battleground overflowing with puffy winter jackets, cold weather accessories, boots, and snowy footprints. I don’t know about you but our entryway is not cute in the winter. But come spring and summer, all of that gets tucked away and there’s a bit more room to play!
A few easy swaps you can make to breathe new life into your entryway for spring: a cute doormat, a couple of potted flowers on the stoop, and a spring wreath.
