Meet the Founder
Hi! I’m Debbie — founder and editor of Fleurish Collective, recipe developer, content creator, and mental health counsellor.
I started my home and lifestyle Instagram back in 2018, followed soon after by this blog. At the time, I was working in a high-stress, high-risk mental health program, supporting individuals through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. It was meaningful work, but also emotionally heavy, and I found myself craving a space that felt safe, supportive, and grounding—a little haven from the world.
That’s where Fleurish Collective began. It started as a personal project: making my home feel cozy and nurturing, cooking meals that brought me comfort, and creating small rituals that reminded me to slow down. Over time, it grew into something more—a place to share those same recipes, home essentials, and wellness tools with others who also want to live with more ease and intention.
Today, I balance my private counselling practice—where I specialize in stress, anxiety, perinatal & postpartum mental health, and burnout recovery—with creating content that celebrates the connection between home and mental health:
- Cooking seasonal meals can be a form of self-care.
- Gathering friends around a table can be an antidote to loneliness.
- A calm, beautiful home can support a calm, beautiful mind.
I bring over 10 years of experience as a counsellor to this work and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), have completed Maternal Mental Health Professional Certificate Training, and I’m currently training to become a certified meditation teacher. My counselling background deeply informs how I approach everything I share here—blending research-backed wellness insights with real-life, approachable ways to create a home and life that feel nourishing.
When I’m not creating content or counselling, you can find me tending to my summer garden, exploring the best home essentials (I have strong opinions on sheets, pans, and pantry staples), or hosting my friends and family for a beautiful meal at home.
