I was thinking this morning about how much I love using my presets and how happy I am with the look of my Instagram feed after a lot of back and forth with different editing styles. Then I realized that I hadn’t shared about them in a long time and I’ve actually never shared about them on the blog, so it was well past due! I wanted to share a bit more about my presets – how they work, why I think you’ll love them and how to purchase if you’re interested!
But first, what is a preset?
Presets are a collection of edits that you can apply to your images, to create a cohesive look and feel. They’re similar to an Instagram filter but there are many different ways you can use presets to streamline your editing. The pack of presets that I’ve created work with Lightroom (I just use the free mobile app but the pack also works with the desktop version if that’s your preference) and they make it so easy to edit – it’s literally one click editing.

Benefits of using presets
There are a handful of reasons that using presets is helpful, whether you utilize Instagram as part of a business/brand or you’re just wanting a better way to edit personal photos.
Creates a cohesive feed
I’m a believer that the more cohesive your Instagram feed is, the more likely you are to grow and attract a new audience. Those first nine photos on your grid are a bit of an appetizer of your content and if it looks messy or chaotic, people aren’t going to be drawn into that. If you are hoping to build a brand via social media, I would strongly encourage you to consider your editing style and take a look and see if your feed feels welcoming.
Makes editing quick and easy
With so much on the go, I’m all for things being quick and easy. I used to spend so much time trying to edit my images, tweaking all of the settings and still coming out with a result that didn’t feel quite like I wanted it to. Since using my presets, it’s literally one click and then I’m done. If I want to adjust a couple of other settings, I still have the option but oftentimes, I’m happy with the single-click edits.
Editing Personal Photos
Even if you don’t use Instagram for the purpose of a business/brand, I still find that using a preset on personal photos goes a long way. I also think that the use of presets makes a huge difference in framed photos around the house looking cohesive and adjusts the colours slightly so they compliment each other. I’d highly recommend them for personal use as well!

Why I created my presets
I tried many a preset before deciding that my best bet was to create something that I was confident I loved. Since I started using my own presets on my Instagram feed, I’ve seen considerable growth and have had countless comments and questions about how I edit my photos. I’m also happier with the overall “feel” of my feed and find that it enhances the images in just the right way without looking overly edited.
Broad range of options
My preset pack includes 12 different presets that will all give you a warm and neutral tone. A few things I prioritized when creating them: giving the images a warm feel without looking orange or yellow, making sure that greens pop but look natural, warming up the whites in my shots, and making people/animals look a bit sharper.
The reason there are 12 different presets included in the pack, is because certain ones look better indoors, outdoors, for close up product shots or for images with people in them. When you download the pack, they are all available to you and you’ll quickly learn which ones you prefer using in different settings/image types. While I use them all for different styles of photos, my most-used are “ginger”, “cream” and “orchard” with “ginger” being the one you would see most on my feed.
Works well in different seasons
Some preset packs are geared towards a certain season; however, I truly think these shine all throughout the year. They definitely make photos look warm and cozy so I’m especially excited to use them throughout the colder months. I created these in the fall and they looked so good with all of the orange/red/yellow tones and now as we move into a season with more greens/golds/blacks, they continue to look great.

How to Purchase
I created these presets in partnership with a company called Huudi and they have been incredible to work with. While I designed the presets, they handle all of the backend so they will help you get them set up and help troubleshoot any tech problems you may have. They also offer 24/7 support so if you ever need help, they’re available!
