December 1st. I can hardly believe we’re here already. That it’s the final stretch of 2019. There is a feeling of nostalgia that stirs up in me at the beginning of this month every year. We are staying in Regina over the holidays this year – just Johnny, Sophie and I. Forever missing my family this time of year but also thankful and excited for a quiet Christmas season amidst the chaos of work parties, shopping, and out-of-town guests.
I’ve decided to create a December bucket list for myself and would love for you to follow along – checking items off and adding your own!
- Pickup warm drinks and go for a drive to look at all the twinkly Christmas lights.
- Shop with intention – look to buy from small shops and choose gifts that are thoughtful and specific to the person receiving them.
- Bundle up and go for a long walk to savour the winter wonderland.
- Spend an evening at home with a bottle of red wine, our cribbage board and Johnny.
- Make my own wreath of winter greens.
- Cuddle up and watch a cheesy Christmas movie.
- Do a random act of kindness for a stranger.
- Get lost in a good book.
- Bake cookies using a new-to-me recipe.
- Set new year resolutions for 2020.
